Ghorahi, Push 29, 2080. The 11th annual celebration and award distribution program of Rapti Engineering College located in Ghorahi-16 has been held. The program was held today, Friday, at the college premises. During the program, the chief guest, Professor Dr. Dipak Bahadur Bhandari, Registrar of Pokhara University, mentioned that he was impressed by the overall activities of the college. Prof. Dr. Bhandari also mentioned that Rapti Engineering College is rich in culture, as evidenced by the various types of dance performances that he saw. He added that the knowledge that students gain at Rapti Engineering College is comparable to that of any university in the world. Furthermore, Prof. Dr. Bhandari emphasized that discipline and respect are mandatory in life, and that Rapti Engineering College is able to instill these values in its students.
The Examination Controller of Pokhara University, Dr. Tulsi Ram Bhandari, said that there is no difference between private and government education, and everyone receives the same education. He added that if one obtains an excellent education, then they can lead their life successfully in any field they choose. Furthermore, he mentioned that he has been working towards changing the curriculum of Pokhara University to make it more relevant to the global job market.
The principal of Rapti Engineering College, Resham Giri, said that the college is running with the aim of making students self-dependent in technical education. He announced that some students who have graduated from the REC are now employed in both private and government sectors, including as an under-secretary in the Nepalese government. Currently, 39 students are studying at the college under scholarship.
The guest of the program, Baldev Yogi, the President of the Dang Chamber of Commerce, stated that education is important and it is necessary to identify oneself through education. He also emphasized the need to make practical, modern, and life-oriented education by transforming technical education into holistic education. He further mentioned that through this, the society has undergone significant changes and the district of Dang has become more easily accessible without any prolonged struggle.
Similarly, Civil Society Dang Coordinator, KB Masal said that the Neighboring district has become more accessible due to a lot of changes and a long struggle, not just in Dang but also in Rapti Engineering College.
Similarly, Sharad Adhikari, a member of the Press Council of Nepal, emphasized the need for extra activities to enhance the capacity of students during the program held at the college. He also praised the college for developing technical education and making every task easier through it. He stated that the students of Rapti Engineering College are ahead in both the government and non-government sectors.
Ram Mani Pandey, the spokesperson of Ghorahi Sub-Metropolitan City, Jharendra Kharel, the coordinator of the management committee of Tulsipur Sub-Metropolitan City, Baldev Yogi, the President of Dang Chamber of Commerce, and human rights activist Binod K.C. were among those who extended their best wishes in the program. Various students were also awarded certificates of recognition in different fields during the program.
During the welcome ceremony, the students presented various dances including Kauda, Tharu, Tatpa and other traditional dances. On this occasion, a blood donation program was also organized.
The program was chair by Dr. Bhimsen Giri, the chairman of the management committee of Rapti Engineering College and the college's MD, with the presence of chief guest, Dr. Dipak Bahadur Bhandari, the registrar of Pokhara University. The program began with a welcome speech by the college principal, Resham Giri, and was facilitated by Bishwabandhu Thapa.
