Welcome and orientation program for new arrival students in Rapti Engineering College was completed on 23 June 2022(9 Ashadh 2079). Students studying in second semester of B.E. Civil and BCA organized a welcome and orientation program for the students studying in the first semester of Civil and BCA.
Speaking at the welcome and orientation program, Chief Guest District Coordination Committee Head and District Education Committee Coordinator, Nityanand Sharma said that the private sector has an important role in the field of technical education in the country. The Chief Guest Sharma said that since the demand for technical education is increasing in recent times, the government alone cannot meet it, and also requested the private sector to increase investment in technical education.
"We need education to sell, that is technical education, in that sense it is necessary to take technical education to the villages," said Sharma, the chief guest at the orientation program. While there are only three government technical schools in this province, Rapti Engineering College realized the need for technical education about a decade and a half ago. Reminding that the country is currently in a state of requiring-technical manpower from the ward level to the ministry, he also said that he will play a coordinating role in the concerned sector to start teaching technical education in every public school.
Speaking at the program chaired by himself, the Chairman and Executive Director of the Board of Directors of Rapti Engineering College Dr. Shailendra Giri recalled that the dream of technical education seen fifteen years ago with the belief that the students of the lower and middle class communities here can be given technical education is now being fulfilled. He also said that they are committed to developing a research-based education system instead of a learning culture. Our products have been spreading all over the country, it was said that at least 80 percent of the technical manpower in Lumbini province is covered by our products. In addition, the students who have received technical education from REC have also expressed that they will teach at least one week for free in the community schools, saying that they are going to connect secondary education to the campaign of social transformation.
On this occasion, Director Madhusudan Baidhaya, BCA Program Head Bishwabandhu Thapa, BE-Academic Coordinator & B.E.Civil Department head Er. B.R. Joshi and others welcomed the newly arrived students and expressed their greetings. . The program started with the welcome speech of Dr.Bhimsen Giri, MD-REC and was moderated by students Gauri Chaudhary and Shaktising Rokay.
On that occasion, Rapti Engineering College welcomed and honored the newly elected District Coordination Committee Chief Nityanand Sharma, Deputy Chief Chetna Chaudhary, District Coordination Committee member Junu Kumari Budhamgar and Kalpana Serpaili. Students showed various cultural performances in the program. In the two-day orientation training, training was given by Dr. Shailendra Giri, Narayana Nepal, Dr.Bhimsen Giri, Yoga Instructor- Raindra Basnet and Er. Projwol Acharya.
