Welcome & Orientation Program 6 Magh 2080

20 January 2024 (6 Magh 2080), Dang. Dr. Bhimsen Giri, Chairman and Managing Director of Rapti Engineering Courses Management Committee, said that it is possible only with the use of information technology for quality teaching and learning. Speaking at the orientation program for students enrolled in BE Computer and Civil Engineering under Pokhara University in the academic session 2080 / 081, Dr. Giri said that students cannot acquire new knowledge while teaching in the traditional classical style and the traditionalist classical style of teaching and learning should be changed to an fundamental or radical method. He expressed the view that research-based teaching and learning activities will help students become smart and competent. Speaking in the program presided over by Principal Resham Giri of Rapti Engineering College; Managing Director Dr. Giri said that Dang, the capital of Lumbini Province, can be developed as a center of engineering education.

He said that the college, which started its educational journey with Diploma in Computer program from Council for Technical Education and Vocational Training Council (CTEVT) Sanothimi,  Bhaktapur in 2065, has taken a leap in the engineering field by adding a new BE Computer program from Pokhara University in 2023. He said that the college fulfilled the desire of the students to become computer engineer.

In the orientation program the head of the civil department, Er. B. R. Joshi presented his paper about Pokhara University's examination system, while college lecturer Er. Projwol Acharya gave his presentation about engineering education and the current situation. In the program, yoga guru Rabindra Basnet gave training on motivation. Students performed dance in the program. The program started with the welcome speech of Er. B. R. Joshi, the head of the department of the college, and the principal of the college, Resham Giri, presided over the program, while the facilitation was done by the administrative head of the college, Dhaneshwor Chaudhary.
